Luminous Hall at UWA

It has been a privilege to work with Illuminart on a large scale projection commissioned by the University of Western Australia. This work incorporates not only the superlative voices of ‘Well Versed’ theatre group but also beautiful compositions that have been made specifically for the centenary celebrations by some of Australia’s renowned composers, including Richard Walley, Cathie Travers, Iain Grandage, James Ledger and Trilby Temperley.

Pete Ardron and myself have also made compositional contributions and all this has been woven together by me into a soundscape which underlines a sumptuous visual feast created to outline the history and brilliance of the campus and its environs.

I have thoroughly enjoyed every single minute of creating this work!! 8th of February, one night only, on the facade of Winthrop hall at UWA, five cycles of forty minutes each. Bring a picnic rug and your loved ones! Kid friendly and smoke-free.

Links to Interuterion are Live!

Finally, Interuterion is finally getting a proper global release, available on all portals, after the composition of a second movement, Reverie, which has a eupohoric and epic tone in contrast to the more sensual and subtle first movement, Serenity. Listen to an older edit on the first of the two links below. Go to the second link to purchase a copy online. There is a separate page for those wishing to purchase from Australia as opposed to the rest of the world to cover differences in postage. These are direct links from Pete Ardron’s Pink Hampster label. If you want a digital copy only, feel free to email me to arrange this. When you buy from iTunes, Amazon etc, you are paying a corporation a percentage of the artist’s income.

Comings and goings, Condoleeza

Crazy movements supporting special events had me up at 6am for National Anthems and traipsing over town to find a hairdresser to no avail. Thanks to the hotel staff for coming to the rescue! A beautiful trip to the scenic hill in the warm afternoon light to see the view of lake and many small fires in the hazy landscape. After an epic run, we now have the unfortunate cancellation of an upcoming event due to the hostess’ unforseem circumstances. Onward we go, more hours to spend immersed in the studio preparing so many wonderful projects.

No Mask ~ or ~ Operaspective

Opera is beautiful but so many musical worlds intrigue and inspire. They are a puzzle I love to play with. There is no mask. I will not hide behind one genre or another, preferring to explore the wonderful tonal range of anything, as long as it’s good quality!

If you could see outside the frame, you would view a millieu of passersby in the bright morning light meandering past a ladder in a beautiful thoroughfare surrounded by glittering buildings at La Defense. I am in fact teetering up seven feet high and the same distance in front of the monolithic head. Playing with perspective. Or is that operaspective?

Calling the Mothership

I have gathered inspiration from my mothers, genetic, symbolic and even somewhat alien. They have not failed me yet and have shared with me the best songlists for your delight. Wriggle and writhe with the muse, delivering the most fabulous array of classic hits from the last century. I may have trained in opera but I can definitely belt with the best, just ask my clients. Beam yourself up! Listen to your mother!

JazzClassicalClub Fusion

To give the new client a better understanding of how we fuse the styles for a unique and funky blend that stands on its own, we have created a thirty minute overview in an mp3. For anyone who likes a groovy, stylish mood covering the genres of jazz, classical and club without the boredom of the croon or the shrillness of the diva, this will give you all the satisfaction you require. Add in a prelude of simple lounge and a few Epic Aria treats and you have a flavoursome act to cover the entire nights entertainment, from dinner to dancing. This mp3 is available only on request. Please use the contact form.

Lost Luggage!

Oops, the airline lost the baggage. Sensibly, my hard drive is in my hand luggage so now, with a delightfully dodgy internet connection I am able to upload fresh links on the listen page, particularly to show contemporary pieces to those clients who ask specifically for these pieces.

I’m busting to share more but I cannot yet give you the original/arranged ethereal aria material as it’s still being prepared for market. As it’s been such a long labour of love I’m not about to lose draft versions to bootlegs.

I’m in the studio, rehearsing in a great acoustic space and preparing set lists for a different band experience coming up soon. I’ll take the Zoom and get some room recordings for you. 🙂

If you like this piece of art it’s one of a series of the Aussie outback by my father. He’s collectible 🙂

A World of Whitney

I have just spent the last three days singing not only some exquisite classical pieces but also some of the great belt repertoire, including the Dolly Parton song made so much more famous by the unique Whitney, now an iconic legend. ‘I Will Always Love You’ was a song that I had long looked at with formidable awe. These days, after the wonderful inspiration of my lovely mentor and great and powerful singers like Whitney, I sing it happily. She will certainly live on in all passionate singers.

The recording we made will be ready soon enough. I am going into studio mode now! I can’t wait to get your latest emails and requests so I may continue to delight you in the future with both perfect new material and send you the personalised CD’s I promised. Thank you so much for your support. It has been my honour to delight you.

Fifth Element Download Recitative

Wow, I’ve had lots of fantastic and insightful messages so far and am in appreciation of your feelings and thoughts. Most of my gifts are being taken as uploaded mp3s. I am currently going through some live recordings I’ve been making in order to gift some more. Let’s start with the wonderfully intense little rectitative from Lucia di Lammermoor, which was surreptitiously ripped off by the Blue Alien to segue into that mad electronic section in that funky movie. Just go to the first soundcloud link on this website’s ‘Listen’ page to hear and download gratis. I am working on several leftfield arias at the moment, but they aren’t ready yet. There will also be several contemporary songs with groove, in time. Enjoy! * Blog image is the front cover of ‘The Pleiadian Workbook ~ Awakening Your Divine Ka’ by Amorah Quan Yin.

CD Giveaway :-)

I am looking for comments on my music (“Listen” tab) as part of a process I’m currently undertaking to focus on certain genres. I can best do this with your feedback. I will give away CD’s to all comments that are interesting and give me food for thought. I have my personal delights but I also have an audience to satisfy. General comments about whatever aspect of the sound you like are welcomed. Looking forward to your feedback!
